Our play-based program intentionally provides a wide range of engaging opportunities and kindergartens bayswater activities based on the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework.
On the day of the tour, you can observe practices and interactions within the centre environment. You’ll be able to see all the rooms and playgrounds, ask the team members any questions you have in mind, and get all the information you need to make the best decision for your child. Our toddler program encourages curiosity, independence and early social skills as children explore the world with growing confidence. Educators introduce open-ended materials and invitations to explore, such as building, measuring and experimenting. Through shared conversations and investigation, children develop curiosity, problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Your child will learn about good nutrition to form healthy eating habits.

Rather than starting again at each stage, children can continue growing within a familiar and trusted environment, surrounded by educators, friends and routines they already know. This continuity provides a sense of comfort, security and belonging, while allowing each new learning stage to build naturally on the experiences, relationships, skills and confidence developed in the years before. Our Kindergarten program prepares children for school through engaging, play-based learning experiences that build confidence, independence and a love of learning. We offer free Victorian Government funded sessional kindergarten for three and four-year-olds. Our programs are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS) to support each child’s learning and development. Our dedicated teaching team is made up of experienced educators who support each child’s holistic development. We believe that natural environments and opportunities for risky play help children build resilience, develop life skills and foster teamwork. This is a unified approach by the Oppia team to encourage families to feel comfortable when participating in Centre life.

Children can explore expansive outdoor spaces featuring a bike track, sandpit and vegetable garden. These areas give children room to move, ride, dig and grow, with nature-based experiences woven into everyday outdoor play. Our educators are trained in various programs to support the mental health of your child and are skilled in working with children who have experienced challenges and trauma. We can also refer to mental health support programs for families if you find yourself in need of assistance. Your child will go on excursions, get involved in the local community and take part in environmental programs to help them become active members of the local community.

Your child must be 3 as at 30 April in the year that you wish for them to commence 3YO Kinder or they must be 4 as at 30 April in the year that you wish for them to commence 4YO Kinder. We recommend joining our waitlist as early as possible to maximise your opportunity of securing your preferred commencement date and days of attendance. Our Kindergarten Programs are approved by the Victorian Government and delivered by qualified Early Childhood Teachers in accordance with the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF). Children engage in activities that develop gross and fine motor skills, coordination, rhythm, focus, and mindfulness. KU respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the many lands on which our services are delivered. To be eligible for Free Kinder funding, the Victorian Department of Education and Training requires parents to sign the ‘Fee Relief Declaration and Consent’ form at the time of enrolment.
This allows our families the flexibility of a long day  care setting in these essential programs.. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Kinder Haven is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all  children. Starting child care is a big milestone, and a little preparation can help your child feel more comfortable and confident. To finalise your enrolment, you’ll complete an online enrolment form through a secure link sent by our Family Support Team.
