To ensure that your child receives 15 funded kindergarten wantirna hours per week, they must attend 3 days a week. Our learning programs help children be creative and confident thinkers, build confidence, self-reliance and resourcefulness, and develop problem solving skills. A kindergarten program is run during long day care for 3-year-old and 4-year-old children enrolled in our long day care program.

Silverwood Child Care Centre provides a warm and inviting atmosphere for children to explore, interact, learn and most of all, develop and encourage their own individual personalities. The Silverwood Child Care Centre was officially opened in 1975 by the Hon J. Berinson, MHR for Perth as a joint venture between the then Shire of Bayswater and the Australian Government. The centre was named the Silverwood Day Nursery and offered long day care to children 0-5 years of age.
We take dietary needs seriously and have extensive experience working with children who have allergies, intolerances, and other dietary requirements. For the safety of all children, we do not allow outside food to be brought into the centre. Our team will work closely with families to ensure every child’s dietary needs are met with care and respect. Before your child’s first day, you may be invited to attend a Stay and Play session. This gives your child time to explore the centre, meet their educators, and start feeling comfortable in their new environment. Once your paperwork is complete, your child is ready to start their early learning journey with us.

Children's voices guide our daily practices, programs, and decisions, ensuring they are heard, respected, and empowered to make choices about their learning and environment. Our educators work closely with families to create a consistent approach between home and kindergarten. When additional support is needed, families can access Kindergarten Inclusion Support and the Preschool Field Officer program, as well as other specialist services. These supports can help educators and families develop practical strategies that enable every child to participate confidently.
If your child attends a funded kindergarten program at long day care, a Free Kinder Offset of up to $2,101 is paid directly to the program provider.
